Harvest Time
Welcome to my blog! I invite you to join me on this exciting journey of digging deeper in the word of God and experiencing His joy along the way . I’ll start by taking a quick trip back in time as I introduce myself and my ministry.
In the fall of 2005, I attended a Living Proof Live event where Beth Moore taught on Psalm 126. I encourage you to go read the entire chapter, but for time and space, I’ll give the highlights here. “Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. He who goes our weeping carrying seed to sow will return with songs of joy carrying sheaves with him” (Psalm 126:5-6). Little did I know what a crucial message and promise this would be in my life in the very near future.
A month later, my third daughter was conceived. Before the excitement (and nausea) of the first trimester had worn off, I learned that she had a chromosomal defect known as trisomy 18 – a death sentence. My precious baby was going to die! How could that be? God, where are you and what are you doing? God assured me that He had not left me or forgotten me and that He was in control. I just needed to trust Him. So, I set out on the journey of a lifetime with God and this precious little life. Through His grace and strength, I chose to celebrate her life to the fullest. And He granted me 2 ½ glorious days to hold and love my sweet baby Ashlynn. I got to stroke her soft dark hair, feel her satin skin, see her beautiful painted lips, rock her, sing to her… I got to be her mother. I’m forever grateful that He chose me to be her mother. She has been a huge blessing and she taught me a lifetime of lessons from her brief existence.
As I travelled the road of pain and suffering back to the path of healing, God comforted me and guided me through every tear and I’ve continued to give Him my wholehearted praise. He’s now birthed this book and ministry that have become a reality and I pray that they bring great glory to Him. Every seed I’ve sown, tears and all, were done in love. I may never see the outcome, but I trust that this is the beginning of a great harvest. I pray that you’ll experience the depth of God’s love and that your heart is filled to overflowing as you grow in your walk with Him.
